Updating Training for Officers in Charge of an Engineering Watch Function 4 - PART A


The course covers the certain KUPs leading to Management Level Marine Engineering competencies that are now incorporated in the new Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSMarE) curriculum to align and prepare the aforementioned Officers in taking the new management level course for marine engineering officers.

The course complies with the requirements under paragraphs [4] and [5] of Regulation I/11 (Revalidation of Certificates) and in consonance with Regulation I/15 (Transitional Provisions) of the 2010 Manila Amendments to the 1978 International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW'78 Convention), as amended.

Entry Requirement

Entrants to this training program must be Officers in Charge of an Engineering Watch (OIC-EW) on seagoing ships powered by main machinery of 750 kW propulsion power or more who are holders of COC issued under Regulation III/1 of the STCW'78 Convention, as amended.
