Ship Security Awareness
This course aims to provide participants the knowledge, understanding and skills in compliance with the International Ship and Port Authority (ISPS) Code for all shipboard personnel.
It covers the objective of improving security in the operation of ships and/or sea craft.
The course complies with the requirements prepared by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) which were adopted in December 2002
After successful completion of the course, the participants will be able to:
- demonstrate the procedures and actions in accordance with the principles established by the ISPS Code and SOLAS Convention.
- understand the procedures and readiness to respond to changes in the maritime security levels.
- be aware of the various types of security equipment & systems and their limitations.
3. Entry Requirement
This course is open to all unrated/ rated and would be seafarers/ mariners for national and international shipping industry.
4. Course Intake Limitation
The course intake shall not be more than 24 trainees.
